The damn Acura commercials.
It's my day off and I've been sitting here drinking coffee, enjoying the company of some cannabis, and catching up on some missed episodes of Comedians In Cars Getting Coffee. One thing I've loved about the show is how hilarious the Acura commercials, and placements are. From carpooling astronauts, 1970s Honda commercials, or a showcase ad for the TL that never really shows a full shot of the car, the placement and timing of them is genius. If the rest of the advertising department at Acura took some notes they'd probably sell more than half-a-dozen cars in a month.

I actually think most of those commercials are unintentionally reinforcing a perception that Acura is the brand for people who don't care about cars. It's like they are making a joke without realizing they are the punchline. There is a very jarring dissonance when a commercial joking about standard equipment steel hoods and lighted visor mirrors is immediately followed by Jerry Seinfeld starting a car and explaining what's under the hood and why the car is unique and interesting.

I did not know there were actually commercials in there! I just watched all of the CiCGC episodes this past week and I would hear Jerry pitch to the commercial, then the show would just carry on. Adblock plus, you magnificent sumbitch, I'll have to disable you and go watch them again.
